It's September and I'm away - again!

Currently I am in Auckland, I am up here to teach two classes to the members of the Northern North Island area of New Zealand. The past two days I have taught my Reticella Pin Drum class to a lovely bunch of ladies. I have thoroughly enjoyed spending my time with them and they did an excellent job. In a day or so I am teaching a design class on Tea Cups to another group. This should be loads of fun as I love designing and hope to be inspired by them as much as I hope I inspire their work. I started well with the whole stitch on a focus sampler for August. I worked on my A Peacock, A Unicorn & A Badger first. I got quite a bit stitched on her as I was away and had loads of time. Next up was my Ann Tong Uffindell sampler and I set myself a goal of finishing her border. I had 8 - 10 flowers to fill in and the wee fiddly crosses around the border to do. June Stitching & Future Plans

My English Band Sampler (designed and taught by Di Fisher of Adelaide) is still receiving plenty of love and as a result she is coming along nicely. I have almost finished another band and when I say almost I mean I probably have another weeks worth of stitching still! This the fourth band, it is being stitched on 35 count Permin linen with Au ver a Soie stranded silks, Needlepoint Inc and Gumnut Stars Silks and Gilt 3 Passing and Gilt Tambour threads. This sampler is gorgeous. I have realised that I get bored easily but with this piece there are so many different stitches that I am really enjoying it. But don't be fooled, we joked in class that each area is stitched over about 3 times to complete each stitch and I think it might be the case. I am hoping to have this beauty finished this year. A Peacock, A Unicorn, A Badger from A Scarlet Letter is calling my name. Oh my, I want to stitch all of this and now! I love seeing the imagery appearing and I may or may not have ordered mo

Hmm, what's caught my eye this time!

It's been quite some time since I have recorded my thoughts here. Life seems to have been chaotic. But recently I have been thinking about recording my stitching so here goes. I have a large stash, sometimes I find it overwhelming. Especially when deadlines are looming and there is always something else to stitch or do and it needs to be done now. I have decided to try and chip away at my stash as I love the projects I have collected to stitch, they have been after all hand picked by me. So here we go, here are some of the new and old beauties from my stash that I have touched in the last couple of weeks. Lately I have fallen victim to the Mini Masterpieces SAL. It wasn't difficult really, I love art and have been to many galleries around the world. The first month's pattern was Starry, Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I have seen this piece in person.
